No, but we saw the movie!  →
I laughed out loud when I read the following New Yorker article by Nora Ephron. It centers on that feeling one gets when watching a movie and A. you feel like you’ve missed something crucial while following the plot and B. it doesn’t seem portrayed the way it was in the book. I smiled my way through this particular article because the basis of her exploration was No Country For Old...

Still sick...
Day three of feeling like a zombie… I stayed home today to rest and I’m hoping the Emergen-C, half a gallon of OJ, green tea with kombucha and water will provide the fluids I need to get me out of this funk. Why the excessive drinking? Well, I tend to get extremely exhausted when sick: Exhibit A.  Anyway, it has given me the opportunity to completely veg out. I’m being so lazy...

Sicky, sick
So, I just spoke with my Mom and she’s got me all worried that I could potentially have the Mercer virus! Has anyone heard of this? I googled it, but I may have heard her incorrectly because the only thing that comes up is the West Nile virus, which doesn’t seem right. Right?! Today I woke up feeling 100 percent worse than yesterday. I’m only posting right now because it’s...

Ended up seeing Margot at the Wedding… As I was leaving the theater, I overheard some unhappy movie-goers criticize the point of the film—they thought it had none and looked to me and my friend for validation that it “sucked.” I have to disagree. Family dysfunction, the subject of the film, is certainly not pleasant and it *was* uncomfortable watching a family...

Lazy no more!
I’m feeling shitty today. I must have a cold or something, maybe it’s a sinus headache, I don’t know. Whatever it is, it has made me super lazy these past two days. I had so much I wanted to accomplish this weekend and really the only thing I’ve done is watch movies—something that was on my to do list, but wasn’t the only thing. That said, I decided to clean up...

Last Night
I know it’s soooooo not cool in New York to gawk over celebs, but seriously, I couldn’t help myself last night when a twist of fate delivered me within the coveted velvet roped section of The Spotted Pig. So anyway, who was seated at the table next to us? None other than Jay-Z! Holla! Also, some Sopranos were there as well. It was an incredible experience to dine in such an...

Sundance Opening with In Bruges →
One of my greatest highlights in life was attending the 2005 Sundance Film Festival! Seriously. It was such an eye opening experience for me to meet so many passionate, serious filmmakers. I hope to be among them some day soon.

By chance, Michael Stipe and I shared a bench at lunch at Palacinka today. I followed the New Yorker rule and did not say a word to him, but as soon as I saw him enter the creperie I couldn’t help but think, wow, you’re in my iPod!

Sometimes it is scary how right on my horoscope...
Today’s Pisces Horoscope for November 19, 2007A temporary setback with regard to your career might have you feeling a bit disoriented right now, dear Pisces. Modern equipment of some kind might be involved. Don’t make yourself crazy - this is only temporary, and will be straightened out. Your own determination, efficiency and practical abilities should have it taken care of in no time....

A writer's paradise
I remember visiting Costa Rica and thinking, you know, I could retreat here for awhile. Well, I think I’ve found my dream house— a writer’s retreat in the jungle! The house was designed by architect Gianni Botsford for his father who owned 16,000 books! Amazing!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SCORE!
I may be losing my mind, but my suddenly open Tuesday night has proven to be a good thing! Guess who just got an extra ticket to see Duran Duran tonight?! Moi! Hmm, DD totally reminds me of my old college boyfriend who had a bit of an obsession with the band. Come to think of it, he even gave me a DD t-shirt… wonder if I can find that somewhere!

Losing my mind!
Ever have one of those days where you mix everything up?! Well, I’m having one of those weeks, and sadly it’s only Tuesday. I thought I was going to DC tonight for a media opportunity on Wednesday morning, BUT it turns out that the segment is being taped Thursday morning thus no need to travel a day and a half ahead of time! Argh, luckily I wasn’t hassled when changing my...

Only in New York
Last night was exceptionally bizarre. It all began with a cocktail party toasting the life of a friend who had tragically passed away this summer. I’ve lived in New York a short time, yet I’ve been here long enough to experience the death of a friend, a hard thing to process. Needless to say, I think Blake would have been pleased to see all of his friends, dressed in their finest, raising a glass...

No Grinch here!
Following the opening night of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, I made my way to the holiday-themed after party. The highlight, stumbling downstairs to find a small room full of Broadway kids, literally eight to 13-year-olds, belting show tunes and improvising choreography. There was a karaoke machine, but it’s not like they needed it, they already knew all the words—from Sherry from...

A shop within a show. Interesting marketing idea. Mixing fashion and high art seems so obvious, but the key is doing it right. Murakami and Marc Jacobs of Louis Vuitton truly are a perfect fit.
