How do we change patterns that are so normal to...
This question was brought to my attention earlier today by Rachel. It’s unsettling really because changing a pattern is just one of those things you know you have to do yet put off and off and off. I’m sure my heightened sensitivity to this question has to do with the turning of the calendar year. I’m not looking for “a fresh, new start” with 2009, but I am resolving...

Somehow I missed Funny or Die’s Rudolph’s Awesome 80s Compilation.  If Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was made in 1985 it might look like this :)

This morning my friend Janey and her cousin Johnny and I hiked around Bear Mountain, somewhere in Westchester county. I LOVED it! It felt amazing to be outside among such beautiful landscapes, which incidentally reminded me of home. Even though I experienced homesickness and a little bit of the Christmas blues I am so thankful I was able to spend this holiday with such a good friend.

Tis the season...
I woke up this morning dreading the thought of freezing my way store-to-store while I finalize my holiday shopping, so I decided to give the World Wide Web a shot. I know online shopping is old news, but I’ve always been a shop girl, so this is fairly new for me. Well, let me just tell you I found the coolest gift for my parents - something you can’t just pick up in any store....

Lazy day
I feel a bit pathetic today. I woke up at 1 p.m. and could very easily go back to sleep. So tired. I finished and turned in my paper yesterday, so that must be it - you know, the physical exhaustion that comes over you when your brain finally can take a moment to rest?  Or, maybe it’s just because I stayed up late watching old movies :) Regardless, I hate feeling this way. May be time for a...

Frustrations
Grounded is playing the most hauntingly beautiful music and Shazam is not helping me out here! I’m not going to hold up my iPhone any longer - consider this mission failed.

Entire Arrested Development series on sale for $30... →
Ugh, I already have seasons 1 and 2! It will probably cost me $30 for season 3 alone! Hmm… maybe I’ll get it any way - take season 3 and gift the others- now that’s not a bad idea!  (via hellofriend; peterwknox:)

Apple Announces Its Last Year at Macworld →
marco: (via John Gruber) This will be Apple’s last year at Macworld, and Phil Schiller is delivering the keynote instead of Steve Jobs. This is bad news, and is the most clear sign yet that Steve Jobs’ retirement is probably coming within 0-2 years. The company will survive, but I think it’ll be a rocky transition both internally and externally. I’ll be there on business this year....

Lasting impressions...
This weekend I received some very sad news - an old high school friend of mine passed away in his sleep. It’s unclear what really happened yet there’s no need to speculate. The fact of the matter is he’s gone and it’s a terrible loss. We had lost touch immediately after high school for no other reason than we just did. My community back home is always buzzing with updates,...

Le bicyclette
I’ve been obsessed with finding a bike as of late and definitely plan to get my hands on one come Springtime. I love leisurely rides in the park, along the Westside Hwy, Brooklyn, etc. And, my obsession has made me keenly aware of any and every parked bike I pass on the street - so many nice vintage ones all over my neighborhood… above are some of my favorites…
