Duchess Marden
Duchess Marden skin care products are derived from pure, natural plant-based elements, without the use of petrochemicals, parabens or chemical preservatives.
There’s some controversy with the use of parabens in cosmetics. There’s a school of thought that believes parabens can cause tumors although proof is nonconclusive. To me, the more important point is that parabens are synthetic...
Eco Shopping Convenience
There are many eco-friendly bags out there. I have many. Yet, Baggu, a reusable shopping bag stood out among the crowd yesterday at the Green Products Expo. Here’s what I like about this bag— it’s functional, stylish and easy to carry in your purse or pocket.
I walk all over this city and often make unexpected stops to farmers markets or um, stylish boutiques. A Baggu fits in a...

11:18 p.m. Still at work... ARGH!
Go Green!
I’m currently at one of the most interesting product shows I’ve ever attended, and I’ve been to many shows.
At this very moment, I’m at the Green Product Expo inside the Marriott Marquis in midtown. I’m working, but I plan on finding time to take some pictures of some of the more innovative and unique products here. As a tease, let me just say there’s a booth...
Goodnight.
Ah, what a night… most of it was spent working, but the best part of it was spent on Skype catching up with Jenny (my bestie in Austin, TX) and Lauren (my bestie in Nashville, TN). I heart Skype. With just one click- voila! You can see who you’re talking to as if they were in the room. The instant gratification of it all makes me happy.
Alright, I have many things on my mind, but I...

He was too romantic about Manhattan as he was...
This month, Turner Movie Classics is running 31 days of Oscar films and I recorded about half of them… including Manhattan, a film that has a very special place in my heart. If you’ve seen it, I’m sure you’ll agree that it has an opening monologue/scene that is perfection.
“Chapter One. He adored New York City. He idolized it all out of proportion. Uh, no, make...
Love in the Time of Cholera... my thoughts.
People say that Love in the Time of Cholera is a story of unrequited love-Florentino’s intense one-way obsession with Fermina that ultimately transpires after 55 plus years of heart-wrenching longing and devotion. I interpreted it a bit more broadly, as a study of love at all levels- platonic, romantic, crazy, obsessive, etc.
The narration compares love to illness, Cholera in this...

BARDEM WON!!!
Knew it!! :)
A couple of comments from the red carpet...
Red is THE hot color tonight. Katherine Heigl is wearing WAY TOO MUCH blush! Her cheeks match her red dress and not in a good way Love Amy Adams dark green dress-so sophisticated So far Anne Hathaway’s dress is my favorite! Also, love Heidi Klum’s Galiano dress as well- common theme? They both are looking gorgeous in red! Tilda Swinton needs to be informed about the formality of the...
OSCAR TIME!!!
I just finished book club and now I’m watching the Oscar pre-show!! I love, love, LOVE the Academy Awards! Yay!
Finished!
Finished my book in the nick of time! Mark my words- next time I will not let myself get so behind! Now, I’m off to discuss. Hey, at least now it’s fresh in my mind! :)
Why is it so damn hard for people to talk?
– James Earl Jones (Big Daddy), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
UPDATE: I’m more than half way through my book and I’m maintaining a pretty good pace. I’m happy to report that I’m getting into the story. How awful would it be if I had to suffer through it on a Saturday only to maintain my pride at book club?!
My Saturday...
Okay it’s 10:40 a.m. and I have to get serious… Serious about reading. I’ve gotten a little behind on Love in the Time of Cholera and book club is tomorrow! Yikes! So friends, if I don’t answer my phone today now you know why. Ugh, I’m so annoyed at myself for putting this off!
Although I plan to be a bookworm for the majority of the day, I do have especially fun...

HAHA! Of course, Meg! You’re my number one reason :)
All Points West aka Coachella East
UM, WHY AM I GOING ALL THE WAY TO CALIFORNIA FOR COACHELLA WHEN I COULD HAVE JUST STAYED HERE AND SEEN ALL THE BANDS I LOVE PLUS (KEY POINT APPROACHING)…. TWO NIGHTS OF RADIOHEAD?!!!!
Yes, this is a totally valid, yet perplexing question and the only real solution I see is to plan for six days/nights of fun across both coasts instead of three. Done and done!
Check out the line up for All...
I got asked out on the subway today…. FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS MONTH!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Where's the party?
My 28-ahem-birthday is coming up and this year will be the first time I celebrate in New York. Last year, I was lucky enough to cheers 27 with Jenny, Moka, Nic and The Shins in Austin, TX. This year, my birthday falls on a Friday which means birthday weekend! Yay!
I’m currently researching restaurants for a Friday night soiree with a few close friends. Here’s the criteria: fun...
Ski Therapy
At the last minute, I decided to go on a ski trip to Vermont during the long weekend. A boy I have a bit of history with asked me to come along. I went back and forth on the idea. One side of me really wanted to go, but the rational, headstrong side of me considered staying home. I don’t ski (never have in my life), but the thought of getting out of the city sounded wonderful.
After some...
