So depressing.
What's Next?
I’ve been thinking a lot about “what’s next” while I’ve been away. I came to New York nearly two years ago with purpose, and although I’ve made quite a remarkable life for myself i.e. great career, meaningful friendships, I haven’t yet accomplished one goal in particular- making a film.
Filmmaking is a quiet passion of mine. I’ve done a few project...

If I’m really honest, this is bad. They (janjaweed) go to the villages...

Just finished watching 60 Minutes
And the first segment made me cry. The story, Searching for Jacob, focused on a young boy who escaped mass murder in Darfur, Sudan. The piece pointed out something I didn’t know- Sudanese leaders have become reliant CIA informants to the U.S. on Al Qaeda, specifically Osama bin Laden.
Yes, the U.S. was one of the first countries to acknowledge the genocide in Sudan and has provided...

Hi! So, I’m liveblogging today at the Jack + Bill casting call - a search to select up-and-coming New York models, designers and stylists! The winner receives free public relations representation from now until NY Fashion Week.

A quick note from a downtown street
I decided to forgo a few extra hours of sleep this morning to take my own guided walking tour of New York. I’ve been walking all over downtown for 4 plus hours and don’t intend to stop any time soon. The freedom to walk anywhere while at the same time remaining constantly stimulated by everyone/everything is one of my favorite things about this city. When I find the time to explore, I...

L-L-L-Lingo
Writer style, photography and graphic layout are just a few ways to differentiate tone and perspective in today’s media landscape. Recently, Daily Candy introduced a book defining its lexicon of made up words. Gawker, partly in jest is falling suit - I’m pretty sure we’re all familiar with the term ‘fameball.’*
My point in all this is that invented vocabulary within...

Apple Dreams
I’ve been having the most bizarre dreams as of late. Mainly they have to do with something someone said to me the day prior.
All this iPhone talk has definitely entered my psyche. Last night I dreamt that I found an underground tech dealer in the West Village who would sell me 12 of the new iPhones for $950. WTF?
Hybrid rental
I’m going to be in LA in a little over a month and would like to rent a more earth-friendly vehicle. I did a quick search through typical sites like Priceline, but there’s really not a good way to find prices on hybrids overall. My search produced options for economy (not necessarily very eco-friendly), compact, mid-size, luxury, convertible, etc. I got to say, I’m a bit...

And, I’m literally about to jump for joy!
Ugh, I’m a bit annoyed that my Facebook account has turned into a professional networking tool. Nowadays my profile consists of a good mix of business and personal contacts. Most of my business contacts are friends, but still there are those instances when it can get a little dodgey. Like today - I have to send an email to a professional contact through Facebook because that’s the best...
