Au revoir 2009
Goodbye to the year that changed my life!
Last January began with a decision that has brought me happiness, gratitude, skills, friendships, tears, doubt, questions, motivation, and all of the above. I often wonder, especially on today of all days, where I would be if the option hadn’t presented itself. Then again it’s a mute point. What matters is it did.
I’m finally beginning...

My future
“Are you excited, dear Pisces? You have waited 12 years for the kind of shimmering aspects that are lining up for you now. By February you will start to see astounding, proof positive evidence that you are indeed the “It” girl or guy, in the perfect position to put your talents, experience, creativity, and good nature to the best possible use. Romantic love and international...

VIDEO: A quick list/review of all the films I watched over the course of a year.
Many documentaries, classics and comedies, but surprisingly didn’t catch a lot of big Hollywood titles. With the Oscars coming up, on my birthday no less - any actor/director out there need an escort?, :) - I’m going to knock off a bunch of the big ones in 2009. I’m dying to see Up in the Air, The...
The 21 Brave Thinkers Of Truly Free Film 2009 →
What is it to be “brave”? To me, bravery requires risk, going against the status quo, being willing to do or say what few others have done. Bravery is not a one time act but a consistent practice. Most importantly, bravery is not about self interest; bravery involves the individual acting for the community. It is both the step forward andthe hand that is extended

Why I Love Yoga
hilarysiegel:
“The Yogis, however, say that human discontentment is a simple case of mistaken identity. We’re miserable because we think that we are mere individuals, alone with our fears and flaws and resentments and mortality. We wrongly believe that our limited little egos constitute our whole entire nature. We have failed to recognize our deeper divine character…Yoga is the effort to...

– Indie film producer Ted Hope on Twitter today.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
A horror film is being edited in the room next to mine. All I hear through the walls is screaming and a creepy kid saying “trick or treat” over and over and over. Help!
Indie film coming soon to midtown
The Producers’ Club in Manhattan’s theater district is launching a new midtown cinema - Indiehouse - opening Jan. 15 and focusing on indie and art house film. A 100-seat, stadium-style theater, Indiehouse will be located at 358 West 44th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.
I’m curious to see what’s to be seen in this new little Westside theater.

Denby's Best Films of the Decade
“The great directors—Griffith, Chaplin, Renoir, Ford, Hawks, Hitchcock, De Sica, Mizoguchi, Kurosawa, Bergman, Scorsese, and the others—did not imagine that they were making films for a tiny audience; they thought that they were making films for everyone, or at least everyone of spirit, which is a lot of people. But, over the past thirty years, the movies have split, increasingly, into mass...
Vimeo Sued By Capitol Records Over Lip Dubs →
zachklein:
I roared with a belly laugh when I read this headline in bed earlier today. Could Capitol Records truly be this misguided? Do they not realize that if you were to sort Internet brands by those most emblematic of creativity — not piracy — that Vimeo would line up at the top? Lip-dubbing is harmless and perfectly fun, and ultimately will define the aesthetic of an Internet generation....
