What is energy?
Using Flip cameras, the Green Team, a global communications agency took to the streets to ask various leaders in the industry to explain what energy really means today and tomorrow.
I edited this video for g-Think, the agency’s research and analysis arm studying the Awakening Consumer and their role in advancing the sustainability movement. Check it out!

Tweetlejuice! The undead’s answer to boring tweets. Written by me and Amir, directed by Sam. Brought to life by many, but particularly Mary Burke’s art direction and Josh Ruben’s Michael Keaton-inhabiting performance. So fun to recreate the style of a movie we love. If you like it, perhaps digg it and/or re-tweet it.
One of the best shooting days of my life. Produced...
So remember...
my short how-to I posted early last week? Well, Howcast had to reset the voting process because there was some shady voting going on (not from me and my friends of course), so all the votes accrued over the week were wiped out :(
Voting resumed this morning, so it’d be great if I could get your support again as the top ten voted videos go into the selection pool and the winner wins $2000...

“Everyone still dreams there’s going to be a conventional sale to a major studio,” said Kevin Iwashina, once an independent-film specialist with the Creative Artists Agency and now a partner at IP Advisors, a film sales and finance consulting company. But, he said, smart producers and directors are figuring out how to tap the value in projects on their own.”

I have an idea...
and in order to see it through I want to compile a list of all the places that hold special film screenings and retrospectives in New York. I’m not interested in chains like AMC Loews or Clearview, so here’s what I got:
IFC Center
Angelika Film Center
Anthology Film Center
Paley Center for Media
Film Society of Lincoln Center
Cinema Village (East/West)
92Y (uptown/Tribeca)

How To Know If You Know Someone
My friend Katie and I decided to enter Howcast’s emerging filmmakers contest with this little short on how to figure out if that familiar face you think you’ve met before is someone you actually know.
For the record, I have no problem placing faces and names, even if I’ve met you once, I’m pretty good about remembering, but no idea comes...

With the help of good pal and fantastic editor Matt Pollock, I’ve put together a DP reel. I’ve never had a reel before, and with all the fun work lately, I figured why not compile some of my favorite moments and lighting setups into one montage. The goal with the first half was to create something that didn’t necessarily say “comedy,” showing the work in a more ambiguously dramatic...

The latest film to stir my inner activist is The Cove, a film that once again proves documentaries can be informative, artistic and suspenseful while changing minds and stirring social change. It’s also a film that could only be made, and made well, by a team so driven by their mission to expose the reality and global impact of the murderous activities that kill 23,000 dolphins each year in...

MOLLY RINGWALD: Growing up, were you obsessed with girls, as so many of your male characters are?
JOHN HUGHES: No. I was obsessed with romance. When I was in high school, I saw Doctor Zhivago every day from the day it opened until the day it left the theater. The usher would say, “Hiya, your seat’s ready.” And I just sat there, glued to the screen. Most of my characters...

Rob Huebel (Human Giant, I Love You Man) On Creative Process and Improv Techniques
Improv is something every single person should experience. Not to get all existential on you, but my 101 class at UCB taught me so much about myself, life, etc. It opened up my creative mind in so many ways and made me okay with sharing and expressing feelings, thoughts, ideas. Nothing, no...
