Oscar Watch: Foreign Film Short List Announced →
The White Ribbon (reviewed here) is a contender. Little disappointed Almodovar’s Broken Embraces did not make the list, but that’s how it goes. There are nine contenders now, but another committee of 30 voters from New York and L.A. will whittle the list to five nominations on February 2. I’m looking forward to see how this category plays out.
