Never thought I could have as much fun in Coney Island as I did this weekend considering my last trip nearly resulted in an all out brawl with a crazy lady pushing senior citizenship. Long story.

I went for the Siren Festival, but spent more time on the boardwalk and around the park enjoying the “amusement” than at the shows. There were many highlights, lots of fun with new and old friends, but riding the Cyclone for the very first time was number one. And no pretending here, I was beyond terrified the moment I stepped on the platform. I didn’t have time to second guess anything because boarding was instant, and yet despite all my initial panic, it turns out that one rickety ride was not enough. I went again. The rush! Although, right now I”m wondering if I might have some whiplash because if I could order in Shitasu* I would. Damn, my neck is sore!

*without the happy ending because we all know that that’s the only type of massage available from “a professional” at this hour.
