This is what happens when you watch the news all day. A weather girl is born.

Live from New York
Never have I seen 8th Ave. so quiet. Calm before the storm indeed.
Location, location, location.
Ta-dah! Although I can take no credit here. All my thanks go to my very handy fella…
Sandbags
Sandbagging party! Everywhere is sold-out so we had to buy “play sand.”. Note 16 bags = 800 pounds + 5 blocks = misery
Normally my attitude would fit right in with the New York list. However, my apartment in West Chelsea is a few blocks from the Hudson and in Zone B. Zone A is being evacuated. I’ve always loved my apartment with its beautiful access to a private garden, but right now I’m actually pretty terrified of some extreme flooding. It’s like my backyard is a fishbowl just waiting to be filled. That said, I will be prepared. I’m buying sandbags and moving all my valuables around. I’m in near panic because I’m supposed to leave tomorrow for Georgia for a shoot. Feeling a bit helpless at the moment, but at least I know I’m doing all that I can to prepare.

You are told a lot about your education, but some beautiful, sacred memory, preserved since childhood, is perhaps the best education of all. If a man carries many such memories into life with him, he is saved for the rest of his days. And even if only one good memory is left in our hearts, it may also be the instrument of our salvation one day.
