At 8:45 p.m. exactly one year ago I received a text message from Ronen about a secret rooftop art party he was hosting in the Lower East Side. He promised fire spinning, music and “awesome,” so I promptly texted back, “I’m in!”

At 10 p.m. I found myself scaling a shifty ladder up to a rooftop and it was there I met the incomparable Burning dAN who at hello was impressive. He was unique not only as an artist, but as someone who believed everyone should live life so freely. Thanks Ronen for the introduction, and for reminding me of all this.

  • overlooking the Williamsburg Bridge!
  • It was Awesome!
