Yesterday afternoon I checked out director Michel Gondry’s Be Kind Rewind exhibit at the Deitch gallery in SoHo, which recreates the video store and low-budget movie sets featured in the film. Although critics and Gondry fans have called Be Kind Rewind all sorts of lame, I’ve got to say my experience at the gallery certainly was not. This exhibit is entirely interactive. It’s all about how you experience it. One could just walk around and be a dormant observer, but that would be no fun at all. For me, it was all about play! Video cameras are available to reserve, but they were all checked out, so I used my own camera to recreate a few movie scenes.  Sadly, I completely overlooked the box of props nearby, but I worked with what I had, and had fun in the process. I’m planning to post one or two scenes a day over the next few days with the hope that you’ll be convinced to go see for yourself! The exhibit closes this Saturday, so if you have time between now and then —GO! It’d make a highly entertaining play date.Deitch (18 Wooster St.)  http://www.bekindmovie.com/
