claudia:via harriettlou: Cinque Terre, ItalyThis photo brings back such great memories… Cinque Terre, Italy consists of five cities- Monterosso, Vernazza, Cornigilia, Manarola and Riomaggiore— and nearly two years ago, my friend Moka and I took a day to walk from each one of these colorful seaside cities to the next.  Ah, that day, although a bit painful (leave it to me not to bring proper hiking shoes), was such a breath of fresh air. This picture shows CT in a fit of stormy weather, but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky when we were there. Starting in Monterosso, we walked along paths that we’re no more than two feet wide, through winding hills of olive orchards and vineyards, and past cheery locals selling Limocello on the trail. You better believe we stopped in each town for gelato, wine and other Italian treats along the way until dusk when we finally made our way to Riomaggiore where we had to catch a train to Florence in the morning. It was quite the day. Ah, I long for trips like these.
