Variety's Ten Innovator's to Watch

“The men and women on Variety’s inaugural “10 Innovators to Watch” — 15 names, actually — are looking beyond 2008 to build the entertainment industry of the future, from the digital studio to the home and cyberspace.”

This list includes two names in particular whose work I’m very familar with—Christophe Abric and Mathieu Saura of La Blogotheque. They’re known for taking emerging bands and de-contextualizing them by having them “perform unplugged versions of songs in incongruous locations and shooting them in long, single takes.” One example of their work is Arcade Fire’s elevator peformance of Neon Bible and I’m pretty sure that most of the videos found on Beirut’s Flying Club Cup web site are done by the guys as well.  You can check those out here
