Hello there! I’m Erin Crumpacker, a filmmaker in New York City. The line between life and cinema for me is rather blurry. I love riddling through auteur filmographies, studying the art and technique of filmmaking, the behind-the-scenes stories, the excitement of a good film festival, and witnessing all of the amazing work being produced within my independent, creative community.
Although my personal work is focused on documentaries, I write a lot about my experiences with all genres on Briefly Noted. I also contribute to The Documentary Group, Bright Wall in a Dark Room and moderate the Chelsea Neighborhoodr.
As an associate producer, I’ve been involved in amazing projects such as Hot Coffee, a documentary about the great injustice within our civil justice system. It premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. documentary competition, and will make its television premiere on HBO in June. I’m also involved with another documentary, Pretty Old, which will be completed in late 2011.  My television credits include production and post-production work on National Geographic, ABC, BBC, Discovery Channel, and MTV productions.
I’m always interested in hearing about new projects and opportunities to collaborate, so please email me at brieflynoted @ gmail.com.
