Oh I have a story for you! Above is a photo I took two weekends ago at Empire Fulton-Ferry Park in Dumbo, Brooklyn. In the distance you can see what appears to be a fully nude person. Well, I’ve seen this person at the park before. Based on past encounters I was pretty sure that A. said person was an older woman and B. said person was completely nude. To be fair, I never got too close to really confirm, but I would say that at my closest I’ve been less than 10 feet away. I remember the first time I saw “her” and I was shocked that someone would freely bask in their birthday suit in a public park. I have no problem with nudity, but it’s odd when no one else is doing it. Oh, and yeah, there’s the whole illegal thing.
Well, turns out I was wrong about two things. According to Sandy McCroskey I’m way off - as he’s the fellow in the picture. I feel bad about mistaking him for a lady, but c’mon that thong must be a very pale yellow cause it just blended in.
So I’m setting the record straight! Also, Sandy pointed out that he’s mentioned in a Tracey Bonham song called Dumbo Sun. I looked it up- it’s true - he and his yellow thong make an appearance.
Lastly, I’m shocked that Sandy found my photo on Flickr. I did write a small caption about the naked, old woman I saw at the park (took it down after I received an email from Sandy), but it’s not like I tagged the picture as “nakednessindumbo” or anything truly descriptive.  I almost can’t believe that he found it- he must be on the lookout for any sort of chatter. Oh, the power of the Internet! He’ll probably find this post too.
Sandy, no hard feelings. Keep on enjoying the Dumbo sun!
