To make it better, all of their proceeds go to Housing Works, a non-profit organization that helps to reduce HIV/AIDS and homelessness in the city. So go to the store, get a cup of coffee from the cafe, sit, and read awhile.  Housing Works Bookstore and Cafe, 126 Crosby Street Oh wow, one of my favorite things in life is a good bookstore. I spend more time by far in bookstores than I do at Barney’s, Bloomies, Bergdorf’s or any other retail store - There’s something about being surrounded by books that just feels good, especially on rainy days when accompanied by a friend and a nice hot cup of coffee. Although, I’m hoping the soggy days are behind us for the time being. I’m excited to check this one out! Also, this already gets a big plus in my book (no pun intended) because the proceeds go to a worthy cause.
