Just finished watching 60 Minutes

And the first segment made me cry. The story, Searching for Jacob, focused on a young boy who escaped mass murder in Darfur, Sudan. The piece pointed out something I didn’t know-  Sudanese leaders have become reliant CIA informants to the U.S. on Al Qaeda, specifically Osama bin Laden.

Yes, the U.S. was one of the first countries to acknowledge the genocide in Sudan and has provided millions of dollars in relief funding, but the fact remains- our government’s actions (lack there of) is not changing a thing. Sadly, our political, bureaucratic system is set up to prioritize insider information over the mass murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent people.  I know that is putting it simply, but it is what it is. We all know why the U.S. government holds information on terrorists above everything else - they’ve been searching for bin Laden since 2001!
