What’s Next?
I’ve been thinking a lot about “what’s next” while I’ve been away. I came to New York nearly two years ago with purpose, and although I’ve made quite a remarkable life for myself i.e. great career, meaningful friendships, I haven’t yet accomplished one goal in particular- making a film.
Filmmaking is a quiet passion of mine. I’ve done a few project here and there, but without any serious dedication. I’ve been so distracted by life lately, and I know that statement screams excuse, but it’s true. Yet, I don’t want to be that person who never got around to it. The good news, I’m not an unmotivated soul by nature, which is why I’m sure I’m having this moment of revelation now. I have the vision and desire and really, now I just need to commit and make the time.
So, I’m making a proclamation now:
- I’m going to spend my free time studying films, documentaries to be specific. I welcome your suggestions.
- I’m also planning to sign up for a class through the NY School of Visual Arts because I clearly need some structure.
Okay, I’m treating this post like a document sealed with gold. I’m accountable for what’s next.
