I’m home sick today and barely have the energy to type - yet, I managed to Twitter the above. Immediately after, I thought -that’s a pretty great idea -a web site that allows one to quickly order a “care package” to help oneself take care of their sickie self. I’m thinking of all the essentials - OJ, cold/flu medicine, soup, maybe a nice lavender pillow to put on my tired eyes… well, maybe that’s not an essential.
But than I thought- what the hell? Why should I hope for such a service when I could very well rely on my friends to help me once and awhile. The offer is there yet I resist because of inconvenience. I don’t know, maybe that’s not the real reason.
Like many New Yorkers, I’ve learned to co-exist in this city on my own, but I’m beginning to realize that their are times when I need to stop being “independent Erin.” It’s exhausting.
