French photographer JR has spent the past year taking portraits of victimized women in Africa, Asia and South America. He or she then makes massive prints and illegally plasters them in places you’d least expect. It’s very Banksy-esque and in your face. How the artist accomplishes this without getting caught is beyond me, but it’s remarkable.
The photo above is just one example of JR’s work that’s part of an exhibition called Women. Check out the site - most of it’s in french, but obviously you don’t need language to view compelling photography.
