One of the best things about being independently employed is you make your schedule. And today, my agenda screamed - it’s 60 degrees you better enjoy it! So, I did… I walked all around the neighborhood, hit up Chelsea Market for lunch and wandered in and out of art galleries.
If you’re ever looking for a quiet place to think and reflect - hit up a gallery during the weekday. I walked into a few wondering if anyone was there at all - so quiet, so empty, so still. At times I felt like I was intruding, which made it that more fun.
The Pace Wildenstein (545 W. 22nd St.) gallery always manages to impress me and today was no exception. Right now, they’re featuring work by Robert Irwin, “one of the most influential artists working in the United States over the past five decades and a pioneer of the “Light and Space” movement of the 1960s.”
Red Drawing, White Drawing and Black Painting will be featured at the gallery till February 28th. Definitely check it out if you have some free time.
