“It’s so satisfying to be able to instantly see a closeup of anything that interests you, whether it’s a pair of designer shoes, a wrinkle, or a simple hand gesture,” said Karina Kogan, general manager of celebrity for Buzznet.
Ewww! Celebrities are going to be gawked and under the critic’s microscope even more than usual at this year’s Academy Awards, a feat I didn’t think was even possible given how closely they are scrutinized today!
Variety reports that two new technologies will be introduced to give viewers even more access to celebrities on the red carpet. The first is called Star Tracker, which follows celebs in real time, pinpointing and identifying them with a graphic as they make their way through the crowd. “Star Tracker” will enable show hosts to highlight key moments on the red carpet, including “celebrities that are walking in close proximity to other celebrities who they are trying to avoid.” Oh, I wonder who they have in mind for this… Jennifer, Angelina and Brad perhaps… please!
The second technology is a zoom feature that’s the Google Earth for celebrity photos. The application enables users to zoom in and move around high-resolution photos to get a more detailed look at the dresses, handbags, ties, shoes and jewelry worn by celebs. And, photos can be magnified up to four times their original size.
Seriously??? I love the Oscars, including the red carpet and the glamour that goes with it, but I got to say, celebrity coverage is being taken to a whole new creepy level these days.
