My self-proclaimed break from the Internet has gone long enough. It’s time to ease back into things and share some stories/pictures from my time abroad.
On my ten-day trip I visited a friend in London, family in Lavenham, UK and a friend in Paris. I traveled solo and loved every minute I spent wandering around unknown streets and countryside. I took about a zillion pictures, but I’ll start by sharing a few from my favorite area of Paris - Montmartre.
What is it about charm that makes a place or person so wonderful? It must have something to do with finesse and one’s ability to comfort and relax another. Whatever it is, I easily fall for charm and when I laid my eyes on the streets behind Sacre Coeur, including Yves Montand’s Rue Saint-Vincent, it was love at first sight. I must have been there on an off tourist day because no one was around - it was just me, my friend Emily and the quiet, timeless, romantic streets. I was smitten and happy to see that the French have preserved such simple charm.
Here I am near Rue Saint-Vincent by the only remaining vineyard in Paris, farmed on hill right below Sacre Coeur. Obviously there are many vineyards in France, but this is the only one in the heart of the city.
